Models and Tools
The core functionality of the Wenger Business Tool offered in the base Model 45 incorporated:
- A stapler, using No. 10 staples
- A fold-out, magnetised staple-removing tool - Which also included a nail-file
- A single hole-punch, including a paper collecting compartment, and an optical gauge to line up the hole on the paper
The higher-end models added these additional tools to the core tools and functions:
- Model 50: A fold-out knife blade
- Model 55: A pair of fold-out high-performance scissors
- Model 60: The knife blade and the high-performance scissors
The knife blade was of a similar style and size to a Wenger 85mm Swiss Army Knife blade, but is actually a completely different tool.
The blade and scissor tools were locking, in the open and closed positions, and are released using a level-style button on the side of the tool
The models 45 and 50 also included a small storage compartment that could be used for spare staples or paper clips.
History
To be verified/confirmed
The Wenger Swiss Business Tool was a brilliantly engineered and capable, top-quality tool, incorporating all the tools and functions that would be needed at an office desk. However, compared to regular individual office tools, such as a stapler or scissors it was very expensive and SAKWiki understands that the tool was not commercially successful and was withdrawn a few years after being announced.
